PRODUCT DISCOVERY

User Research

To gain a deeper understanding of customer needs, I conducted customer development calls, engaging in direct conversations with potential users. These calls served as valuable opportunities to gather insights and uncover their primary needs:

  • Build best position profiles & interviews

  • Evaluate candidates fairly

  • Collaborate with other team members

  • Take the right hiring decisions

  • Improve the overall recruitment proces

  • Offer a great candidate experience

Competitive Analysis

In order to gain deeper insights into the market landscape, I conducted a thorough analysis of several key competitors. I studied each competitor, meticulously examining their value proposition, competitive advantage, product offerings, strengths and weaknesses.

As a result, I obtained a comprehensive view of the market landscape. This analysis informed the development of a robust competitive strategy that would enable our product to stand out and address any unmet needs or pain points effectively.

PRODUCT DEFINITION

Value Proposition Canvas

I focused on identifying the primary Jobs-to-be-done for customers, as well as the associated pains they encounter while trying to fulfill those jobs. Additionally, I delved into understanding the gains they perceive when successfully achieving their desired outcomes.

As a result, I gained insights into their fundamental motivations and goals. This involved understanding the specific tasks, problems, or aspirations they aim to address or achieve through the use of a particular product or service.

User Persona

Based on the information gathered from the previous steps, I created an interviewer persona that would serve as a representation of the ideal user for the application.

By personifying the ideal user, I could empathize with their unique experiences and visualize how they would interact with the application. This in-depth understanding of their goals and pain points allowed me to tailor the features, functionality, and user experience of the application to better meet their needs.

High-Level App Flow

After thoroughly analyzing the needs and pain points of both users, the interviewer and the candidate, I proceeded to map out the main steps involved in their respective journeys.

By visually charting these steps, I gained a holistic view of the entire recruitment process.

MVP

User Flows

I created comprehensive user flows that serve as visual representations, highlighting the journey users will embark on as they navigate through each stage of the recruitment process.

Wireframes

My next step was to get into more details and designed these high-fidelity wireframes for main screens of the flows.

By crafting these detailed screens, I aimed to meticulously define the visual elements, interactions, and overall user interface, capturing the essence of the app's functionality and providing stakeholders with a realistic preview of its appearance and behavior.

UI Design & Prototype

Utilizing the wireframes as a foundation, I carefully crafted an interface that would provide a seamless and intuitive experience for users. By adopting a clean design aesthetic, I aimed to create a visually pleasing interface that would enhance usability and promote user engagement.

To bring the UI design to life, I developed a static prototype, which served as a tangible representation of the app's user interface. This prototype enabled stakeholders to gain a more concrete understanding of the design's look and feel.

User Testing

Once the static prototype was ready, I did an usability testing with 5 representative users via Zoom. They had 2 important tasks to complete: build an interview and evaluate candidates.

They were able to navigate through the app fairly easy and gave the following feedback:

  • In the interview builder, allow users to reorder selected questions.

  • Add colors for tags in order to scan easier.

  • Improve the navigation when going through candidates answers.

Next Steps

In order to enhance this product further, here are some of the next steps to consider:

  • Expand the predefined list of questions and industries for interviews

  • Improve the AI Report for interviewers

  • Improve the overall user experience based on further user feedback.
