PRODUCT DISCOVERY

Product Vision Board

I usually start a new project with a set of frameworks in order to help the client validate the business idea, map out the main problems and sketch possible main directions.

In this particular scenario, a product vision board proved to be an invaluable asset, as it enabled the client to effectively pitch their business idea to potential investors.

A product vision board is essentially a visual representation of the key elements of a product, including its purpose, target audience, features, benefits, and value proposition. It provides a high-level overview of the product and helps to convey the overall vision and direction of the product in a clear and concise manner.

Competitive Analysis

To learn more about the market, I analyzed several main competitors with focus on their strengths and weaknesses.

PRODUCT DEFINITION

Customer Segments

Afterward, I proceeded with segmenting customers based on shared characteristics. The primary target groups identified were companies and employees, with insurers, brokers, and health providers also being considered for later stages.

Segmenting the "companies" group was relatively straightforward. The focus was on small and large companies that had a substantial percentage of millennial employees who prioritized the health and wellness of their staff.

In contrast, the "employees" group required a more in-depth approach. I had to analyze several factors, including attitudes towards health, life-stage, social preferences, and subject-matter, to create detailed customer profiles for this segment.

MVP

Wireframes

My next step was to dive into the details and create high-fidelity wireframes for the main screens of both the mobile and web apps. I knew that this would be a critical part of the design process, as it would involve fleshing out the basic structure and layout of the app and bringing it to life in a more tangible way.

I also spent a significant amount of time testing and refining them, soliciting feedback from stakeholders and potential users, and making any necessary adjustments to ensure that the final product would meet their needs and expectations.

UI Design & Prototype

After completing the wireframing process and receiving the first round of feedback, my next step was to begin designing the user interface.

My goal was to create a clean and simple UI design that would be intuitive and easy to use. To achieve a clean and minimalist look, I employed a simple color scheme and avoided cluttering the interface with unnecessary visual elements. I also placed a strong emphasis on typography, selecting fonts that were both aesthetically pleasing and highly legible.

Next Steps

In order to enhance this product further, here are some of the next steps to consider:

  • Gather feedback: The first step after the pitch is to gather feedback from investors and potential users. This feedback can help to identify areas of the app that need improvement, as well as potential opportunities for growth and development.

  • Develop a minimum viable product (MVP)

  • Launch the MVP and continue to iterate on it based on feedback from investors, users and other stakeholders.
